Claire Thompson is a former longtime seasonal trail worker with the U.S. Forest Service. She teaches English at Wenatchee Valley College and is pursuing an MFA in Nature Writing from Western Colorado University, where she was the recipient of a Mari Sandoz Emerging Writer Fellowship. Her work has appeared in, among others, High Country News, The Thalweg, Camas, Parabola, and Terrain.org. Claire calls the mountains of North Central Washington home.
