Let’s say truth  

is an airplane  

with jet fuel  

windows  

and a route   

subject to currents  

filled with believers  

Let’s say truth  

is my body  

shedding cells  

and scabbing over  

walking in rain  

steeped in love 

and absence

Mary Buchinger, whose recent books include Navigating the Reach (Salmon Poetry, Honors, 2024 Massachusetts Book Award), The Book of Shores, and Virology (Lily Poetry Review Books), teaches at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and served on the New England Poetry Club board for many years.
